Washington, DC (January 9, 2015) – The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) demands the reinstatement of the 13 Flight Attendants who were wrongfully terminated by United Airlines for refusing to fly on a plane without a full security inspection after ominous messages were found scrawled on the fuselage. AFA immediately filed grievances under its collective bargaining agreement with United seeking their reinstatement as Flight Attendants with full back pay and benefits restored. AFA International President Sara Nelson stated:

Washington, DC (January 8, 2015) – Silver Airways Flight Attendants voted to join the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) for representation and a strong, united voice in the workplace. Silver Airways is a U.S. airline in an alliance partnership with United and headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  The world’s largest Flight Attendant union, AFA is comprised of Flight Attendants working at mainline, regional, low cost, niche and charter airlines.

Washington, D.C. (December 17, 2014) – Alaska Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO, voted to accept a tentative contract agreement on Wednesday that offers significant improvements for the 3,400 Flight Attendants at Alaska.  Assistance was provided through mediation by the National Mediation Board.

Washington, D.C. (December 16, 2014) – Today, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO (AFA) joined the chorus of applause from the aviation industry in the change to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)’s Known Crewmember (KCM) program, which allows for flight crewmembers to proceed through KCM screening without their uniforms effective January 13, 2015.

Washington, D.C. (December 10, 2014) –The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) applauds Congress for including language in the year-end funding bill (amendment to H.R. 83) that prohibits funding for new permits that are outside of the U.S. – EU Open Skies Agreement.
