Passing of Barbara Drucker
December 17, 2017 -- It is with a broken heart and great sadness that we share with you that Barbara Drucker, AFA MEC VP and Local President in Philadelphia for Air Wisconsin, died suddenly and unexpectedly today. Barbara spent the weekend baking holiday cookies with her daughter and twin grandchildren. Last night Barbara returned to her own home without any concerns. This morning Barbara called her daughter with complaints of chest pains who then picked Barbara up for transport to medical care. During that car ride, Barbara passed away from a heart attack.
Barbara’s daughter, Amber, shared with great admiration and pride that Barbara lived for two things -- her family and the Union. According to Amber, Barbara routinely described the Union and her fellow officers as her “other family.” Even though her biological family had to share Barbara with AFA for nearly a decade, they are proud of the energy, the advocacy and the passion that Barbara brought to her union leadership. We are too and we will sorely miss her, personally and professionally. Barb was loved by all and her memory will shine on us here at Air Wisconsin forever. Barb's feisty go get 'em attitude and level head made her a force to be reckoned with. Her knowledge across all aspects of her job and her Union duties were unparalleled.
