Supreme Court Ruling Backs Working America
Washington, DC – The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA)
issued the following statement today after the United States
Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the Affordable
Care Act:
“Today’s decision by the Supreme Court is a victory for millions
of working families who struggle without the healthcare provided
by a good union contract. All Americans are affected when
workers and their families are denied access to quality,
affordable health care. This decision is a victory for all
workers and the 30 million Americans who will have healthcare
that was unattainable before. We applaud the Obama
Administration’s historic undertaking and its determination to
bring our country in line with those throughout the world that
already have publicly financed healthcare in place.
“Health care is not a luxury and today, the Supreme Court stood
up against big money and big business. The improvements that the
Affordable Care Act adds to our health care system sends a
message to the world that quality health care is not just
something for the one percent, it’s something for all.”
The Association of Flight Attendants is the world’s largest
