Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants to Picket Wednesday at HNL as Negotiations Continue

HONOLULU  (January 17, 2020) – On Wednesday, January 22nd, Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), will demonstrate at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) to continue their fight and protest the protracted contract negotiations with Hawaiian Airlines management.

Wednesday’s demonstration comes as Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants’ ongoing negotiations with management surpasses the three-year mark. In November of last year, flight attendants’ voted 99.9% to authorize a strike. The vote marked the highest support for authorizing a strike in the history of the entire Association of Flight Attendants.

Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants’ pay has fallen in comparison with the rest of the industry while the cost of living and medical expenses continue to rise. Management seeks cuts in medical insurance and 401(k) and work rules in exchange for minimal pay increases.

The Flight Attendants have picketed at Honolulu and LAX airports over the last several months as negotiations have continued to stall.
