AFA Presents at the Aircraft Cabin Air International Conference
September 20, 2019 — AFA Industrial Hygienist Judith Anderson gave a presentation titled "Oil Fume Events - How Often?" at the Aircraft Cabin Air International Conference this week in London.
AFA presented an analysis of 10 years worth of fume event data reported by U.S. airlines. The numbers show that fume events happen more often then acknowledged by the FAA or the industry and provide insight into the different causes of fume events. This data analysis demonstrates the serious need for fume event reporting rules included in the Cabin Air Safety Act of 2019.
