AFA Statement on Disruptive Passengers Incidents This Weekend

"As we head into the Thanksgiving travel week, listen to Flight Attendants and be a helper."

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 14, 2022) — This weekend, two separate disruptive passenger incidents took place on Frontier Airlines Flight 1761 and United Airlines Flight 476. AFA President Sara Nelson released the following statement:

"Violence has no place anywhere and certainly not in a closed cabin flying several miles in the air. Aviation's first responders are charged with the safety of everyone onboard. When disruptions like this happen, it not only risks the safety of the crew involved, it takes away from Flight Attendants' ability to respond to a medical, safety, or security emergency. Bottom line - it puts everyone at risk and there’s zero tolerance for that.

"Our union is supporting the crews following the incidents this weekend. As we head into the Thanksgiving travel week, listen to Flight Attendants and be a helper.

"Flight Attendants have a message for the traveling public and the communities where we live and work: be kind, and thank the workers who are helping make your holiday possible. And fly safe.”
