After Historic Strike Vote, Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants to Picket Tuesday at HNL
HONOLULU – On Tuesday, December 17th, Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), will demonstrate at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) to continue their fight and protest the protracted contract negotiations with Hawaiian Airlines management.
Tuesday’s demonstration comes on the heels of last month’s historic strike vote, which resulted in 99.9 % of voting to authorize a strike. The vote marked the highest support for authorizing a strike in the history of the entire Association of Flight Attendants. The parties will continue negotiations this week.
Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants’ pay has fallen in comparison with the rest of the industry while the cost of living and medical expenses continue to rise. After twenty years of calm labor relations, Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants have taken their fight for a fair contract public.
Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants have picketed at Honolulu and LAX airports over the last several months.
