Aviation’s First Responders Attend Joint Address
March 7, 2024 - AFA President Sara Nelson and United AFA member Lily Meyer attended President Trump’s Joint Address, also known as the State of the Union address. Sara was a guest of Rep. Pramila Jayapal, and Lily was a guest of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
We were proud to represent aviation’s first responders on the Hill after recent incidents put safety at the top of mind for the flying public — especially as policies from this administration have added risk to our workplace and the industry's stability.
We cannot do our jobs without a functioning government. We will continue to fight alongside Flight Attendant champions like Leader Schumer and Rep. Jayapal to ensure the safety and stability of aviation.
