Judge Blocks Spirit-JetBlue Merger
January 16, 2024 — Today, a federal judge blocked JetBlue Airways' purchase of Spirit Airlines after the Justice Department sued to stop the merger.
While some may be relieved, others may be disappointed. It is not immediately clear whether the airlines will appeal this decision. The decision has had a strong reaction on Wall Street.
Here's what we know for sure: We locked in improvements in our contract, regardless of the outcome of the merger. Our contract remains in full force.
