Call, Tweet, Repeat: #ReliefNow Negotiations Continue
October 21, 2020
Negotiations between Speaker Pelosi and Secretary Mnuchin on a COVID-19 Relief Bill continue. The Speaker clarified her Tuesday "deadline" yesterday as a point at which all items are on the table. Her office said, "Tuesday's deadline enabled the Speaker and Secretary to see that decisions could be reached and language could be exchanged, demonstrating that both sides are serious about finding a compromise."
Yesterday, AFA International President Sara Nelson sent to following letter to Congress: "Now is the time. There is no retroactivity that Congress can apply to the human toll caused by delayed relief. People are losing their homes right now; falling ill and unable to get another job without access to routine medical care that keeps chronic illness at bay and allows them to otherwise live a normal life; moving their children and all the belongings they can fit into their cars and trying to survive as single parents or two parents out of work. We won’t be able to retroactively restore the lives taken as the despair becomes too great." Read the full letter >

Call Congress
SENATE: 888-848-4824
HOUSE: 888-907-9365
"Hello, I am a constituent calling to tell my (Senator/Representative) that aviation workers are out of time. We need #ReliefNow -- TODAY! Furloughs have begun and more are expected. We need relief and an extension of the Payroll Support Program. Without an extension of this successful jobs and infrastructure program, the mass job loss will continue and more communities will lose air service. This is just the start. Inaction is not an option. We need a full COVID-19 relief bill to #ExtendPSP now. Thank you.”
