Celebrating Hispanic-Latinx Heritage Month
Happy Hispanic-Latinx Heritage Month! National Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated from September 15 to October 15 in the U.S.
Last year, the AFA Executive Board passed a resolution recognizing Hispanic-Latinx Flight Attendants and their contributions to the history, culture, and achievements of the U.S. In doing so, they also designed an appropriate pin in recognition of the Month. Make sure to ask your local leaders for a pin.
This pin was designed with help from Alaska Flight Attendant Martin Monteblanco. We have grounded our Diversity and Inclusion pins around color and symbols. This pin includes 5 colors light blue, yellow, green, red, and royal blue for the flags of the Hispanic-Lantix countries along with a gold outline of the area of the world for which most people of this heritage come from.
The AFA Human Rights Committee is actively looking at additional diversity and inclusion pins to recognize the full diversity of our Flight Attendants.
