AFA Statement on Crew Hotel and Transportation Issues
July 28, 2021 — The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA released the following statement on Crew Hotel and Transportation Issues:
"Flight Attendants at United, Spirit, Frontier and other airlines are experiencing long hold times with the crew desk to get rooms or transportation due to erratic schedules caused by the pandemic. As the summer schedule reaches its peak in August, airlines need to supplement crew and hotel desk staffing to ensure crews are getting proper rest and not timing out due to administrative issues. Flight Attendants will continue to utilize 'self-help' provisions in our contracts, but this is not a solution for the operation or crews without resources to front the cost of self help.”
