The results of the presidential election will have a major impact on our jobs: The President selects leaders for the Department of Transportation (DOT), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Labor (DOL), and the National Mediation Board (NMB), who will determine workplace health and safety issues as well as our right to strike. For example:

The Trump Administration put our 10 hours rest, which was overwhelmingly mandated by Congress, on a path to kill it. The Biden-Harris Administration revived our 10 hours and finally implemented it as federal regulation in 2022.

Trump's Department of Labor undercut our sick leave and FMLA rights - contrary to the law and our contracts. The Biden-Harris DOL responded immediately to interface with airlines that rushed to run over our rights and instead is taking action to ensure compliance on this issue.

The Trump Administration rubber stamped safety inspections and new aviation business models that seek to skirt fundamental safety and security regulations through the Part 135 public charter loophole. The Biden-Harris Administration is now working to stop this scheme and close the loophole that skirts all safety and security regulations we’ve fought so hard to achieve.
This election is incredibly important. In short, our right to strike, right to self-determination, and fundamental freedoms are on the ballot. View a list of our endorsed candidates to make sure we have labor allies at all levels of government.
