Am I Eligible To Vote?

How is Eligibility determined?

Voting eligibility is based on three criteria.

1. ACTIVE v Inactive*
   • Currently flying, on PAID Leave, or in the first three months of an UNPAID leave (Commencing)
2. MEMBER v Agency Fee Payer
   • Completed an AFA Membership application
   • Completed the four month apprentice term upon graduation
3. GOOD v Bad Standing
   • No delinquent dues balance
   • Have a payment plan with AFA Membership Services to pay your delinquent balance**

NOTE: For LEC Officer nominations/elections, you must also be based in the Council the nomination/election is being held.

Can I make myself eligible while on leave?

• Yes, if you have an Inactive status due to being on leave the C&B does have a provision to retain your Active status. Article II.C.1.b(3)

In order for you to maintain an Active status while on leave, you would need to notify AFA Membership Services, via email or written notice, of your intent to remain Active while on leave.  You would be responsible for paying dues for the months of your unpaid leave through the month the ballot closes.
