Frontier Airlines Flight Attendants Successful in Pushing Back Against Management Demands

Indigo Partners Announce Formal Purchase without New Flight Attendant Agreement

Washington, DC – Frontier Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), issued the following statement today after Indigo Partners announced its intention to finalize the purchase of the airline:

“Flight Attendants stood strong against demands to relinquish our collective ownership in Frontier Airlines. Over the years we have made great sacrifices for this airline. Since management approached AFA in August, Frontier Flight Attendants have remained steadfast in demanding that any agreement must meet the needs of all Flight Attendants and achieve fair value for the equity and profit-sharing section of our contract. Regardless of who owns Frontier Airlines, Flight Attendants will continue to have a substantial role in the future success of our airline. We look forward to working with Indigo Partners to make our airline strong and profitable,” said Kathie Weis, AFA President at Frontier.

The Association of Flight Attendants is the world’s largest Flight Attendant union. Focused 100 percent on Flight Attendant issues, AFA has been the leader in advancing the Flight Attendant profession for 68 years. Serving as the voice for Flight Attendants in the workplace, in the aviation industry, in the media and on Capitol Hill, AFA has transformed the Flight Attendant profession by raising wages, benefits and working conditions. Nearly 60,000 Flight Attendants come together to form AFA, part of the 700,000-member strong Communications Workers of America (CWA), AFL-CIO. Visit us at www.afacwa.org.
