Frontier Flight Attendants announce strike authorization vote
August 2, 2024 - Frontier Flight Attendants announced a strike authorization vote earlier this week. Frontier management refuses to negotiate over the impact of the carrier’s business model change, which basically eliminates crew overnights.
“Frontier management’s 'out and back' business model has resulted in a massive hit to our compensation and time away from our homes,” said Jennifer Sala, AFA Frontier President. “Frontier Flight Attendants are experiencing harm right now. There’s no time to wait to address the impact of management’s decisions on our lives.”’
Frontier management has a legal obligation to bargain over the impact of its operational change that is separate and distinct from their obligation to bargain over regular contract negotiations. The National Mediation Board even offered facilitated talks with their mediator, but Frontier said no. While management continues to say no, the next step is a strike authorization vote.
