Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants Gear Up for Weeklong Pickets at HNL & LAX To Mark Company’s 90th Birthday
HONOLULU -- On Monday, November 11th, Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants, who are represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), will begin a weeklong picket at Honolulu International Airport to mark the company’s 90th birthday and highlight their fight for a fair contract.
The flight attendants will begin picketing at HNL on Monday, November 11th through Friday, November 15th. Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants will be joined by AFA union leaders, flight attendants from across the islands, and allies at the weeklong protests.
The weeklong picket comes after the flight attendants recent decision to take a strike vote after three years of stalled contract negotiations for fair pay and benefits. Flight Attendants have until November 20th to cast their ballots for the vote, which will decide the next action in their contract fight.
Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants will also be picketing at LAX on Wednesday.
The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA) is the flight attendant union organized by flight attendants for flight attendants. AFA represents nearly 50,000 flight attendants at 20 airlines, serving as a voice for flight attendants at their workplace, in the industry, in the media and on Capitol Hill.
