Hurricane Irma: Airport Operations Update
***NOTE: THIS IS LIKELY TO CHANGE FREQUENTLY AS STORMS ARE UNPREDICTABLE.
SJU:
- Airport is officially open as Irma has passed.
- All employees are safe, however, 68% of the population is without power.
- A 777 flight will be sent to SJU with water, cleaning items and other misc items.
St. Maartin/St Thomas:
- Reports are very sketchy at this point, as both locations were hit extremely hard.
- Airports remain closed and roads into airport are not operable.
- All employees have not yet been contacted and confirmed safe as this effort to reach employees remains a work in progress.
- Both locations remain without power and damage assessment remains undetermined at this time.
Florida
MIA:
- Operations will be suspended at 1600/Friday.
- All flights will be cancelled Saturday/Sunday.
- Plan is to resume operations with 1st arrival on Monday. (NO UAX aircraft will remain in station)
- An extra section will operate out of MIA/ORD at 0100/8.
MCO:
- Operations will be suspended at 1700/Saturday
- All remaining flights will be cancelled Saturday/Sunday.
- NOC is exploring options to move up later departures scheduled for Saturday, instead of cancelling (TBD on feasibility).
- Plan is to resume operations with 1st arrival on Monday (NO UAX aircraft will remain in station).
RSW:
- Operations will be suspended following last STAR departure on Saturday.
- All remaining flights will be cancelled Saturday/Sunday.
- Plan is to resume operations with Sunday.
RON:
- Arrivals FLL Operations will be suspended at 1600/Friday.
- All flights will be cancelled Saturday/Sunday.
- Plan is to resume operations with 1st arrival on Monday.
PBI:
- Operations will be suspended at 1600/Friday.
- All flights will be cancelled on Saturday/Sunday.
- Plan is to resume operations with 1st arrival on Monday (NO UAX aircraft will remain in station).
JAX:
- Suspension of flights is tentatively planned for Saturday afternoon, however, a confirmed timeline needs to be determined.
TPA:
- Currently no plans to suspend operations, however, the forecast will be further evaluated as weather forecasts are developed.
