ICYMI: Crown Act Reintroduced in Congress
May 3, 2024— Congress reintroduced the Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair (CROWN) Act this week. If passed, the CROWN Act would prohibit race-based hair discrimination, protecting the right to wear hair naturally.
Our union is proud to support the CROWN Act this year like we have in years past! We are committed to building an inclusive, anti-racist workplace where every member can feel safe, welcomed and respected. We have made progress at individual airlines to remove discriminatory appearance standards, especially hair, for AFA Flight Attendants.
This is how we build power together to make a difference in our work lives and home lives. Preventing gender- and race-based discrimination is an important part of our history as Flight Attendants.
