Flight Attendant Union Re-Elects Sara Nelson as President

Atlantic City, NJ (April 10, 2018) – The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) directly-elected leaders from twenty airlines today re-elected Sara Nelson as International President by acclamation to serve the new four year term. Debora Sutor was re-elected as International Vice President and Kevin Creighan as International Secretary-Treasurer.

“Progress is not linear. Some may call these times desperate. We can recognize them as a call to action. In the worst of times, working people have risen up to achieve our greatest gains. Stronger together, better together is not just our slogan; it is our calling,” said Nelson.

Sara Nelson is a twenty-two year United Airlines Flight Attendant and has served as AFA International President since June 2014. Debora Sutor is a 29-year Envoy Air Flight Attendant and has served as International Vice President since 2014. Kevin Creighan begin flying at United Airlines in 1978 and has served as International Secretary-Treasurer since 2005.

“Our union is united and ready to fight for all of aviation’s first responders,” said Nelson.

AFA’s annual Board of Directors Meeting is in session in Atlantic City, where Spirit Airlines has a Flight Attendant base.
