A Chicago Business Journal article was just released that says we are in talks with APFA for a merger.
There are no current merger discussions between unions. AFA has long called for a merger of unions to build power for Flight Attendants and this is simply a restatement of that position. A merger would only work through a consensual process and currently there are no such discussions taking place.
We appreciate the leadership of APFA President Lori Bassani, who has worked to ensure we have an open line on issues that are important to Flight Attendants. We are all Aviation's First Responders.

Stop Privatization of the U.S. Postal Service
U.S. Postal Service mail and packages fly on our planes. The routes we fly to communities across the country depend on a strong, public United States Postal Service. We're standing with our sisters and brothers from American Postal Workers Union (APWU), National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), National Rural Letter Carriers' Association (NRLCA), and National Postal Mail Handlers Union (NPMHU) to stop privatization!
No privatization of the people's post office! Call your Member of Congress and Senators at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to Support H.Res 993 and S.Res 633.

10 Hours Rest is Law
On October 5, 2018, the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 became law. The Secretary of the Department of Transportation now has 30 days to change the federal rest rules for Flight Attendants. The new rest rule is: 10 hours free from duty (release to report) and it cannot be reduced for any reason. The FAA will provide the airlines with an implementation period for the new rest rules, which typically is no more than six months. We will update Flight Attendants as the implementation process moves forward.
