Solidarity Alert! AFA Supports Flight Attendants at British Airways Mixed Fleet
August 15, 2017 — British Airways “mixed fleet” cabin crew, who are members of the ITF affiliated Unite the Union (UK), began their latest phase of strike action against the company in July. Over 3,200 workers, who operate long and short haul flights out of London Heathrow Airport, are fighting poverty pay and the discipline against about 1,400 colleagues involved in previous collective bargaining action.

Aug 5, 2017 - On this day in 1981, President Ronald Reagan fired more than 11,000 air traffic controllers who had ignored his order to return to work. The sweeping mass firing of federal employees slowed commercial air travel, but it did not cripple the system as the strikers had forecast.
