Aeroflot Flight 1492 Lives Lost and Lives Saved

May 5, 2019 - We are saddened to learn the number killed due to the Aeroflot Flight 1492 engine fire in Moscow has increased to 41, including a Flight Attendant. Passengers from among the 33 survivors are praising the efforts of the four crew members who evacuated the burning plane.

Congress Voted To Give Flight Attendants a Better, Safer Life. It Hasn't Happened.

Flight Attendants say safety is being jeopardized. And now, protests are being organized.

May 4, 2019 at 8:30am ET — Last night, a Miami Air International plane was carrying 136 passengers and seven crew from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, when it attempted to land at Naval Air Station Jacksonville around 9:40 p.m. The Boeing 737 slid off a runway and came to a stop in the shallow waters of the nearby St. Johns River.

At this year’s Board of Directors Meeting in Denver, the AFA BOD unanimously adopted a resolution supporting ALS Awareness Month each May, beginning with May 2019.
