The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA represents the pre-merger US Airways workgroup while the Association of Professional Flight Attendants represents the pre-merger American workgroup.

Management Fails to Recognize Legally Binding Contractual Involuntary Furlough Protection
United Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today calls on management to work collaboratively to find solutions and prevent any involuntary job loss. After weeks of discussion and tireless work on behalf of the union, today United management has stated they will involuntary furlough some of our most junior members. Greg Davidowitch, president of the United Master Executive Council issued the following statement:
“At the very basic level, today’s announcement is a failure by management to recognize protections of our contract. Despite our recommendations to pursue options that would mitigate the company’s staffing overage, management declined to do the right thing and make the right choice for our airline’s success.
Flight Attendant Union Commemorates US Airways Flight 1549 Five Years Later After Historic Landing
The Association of Flight Attendants- CWA (AFA) issued the following statement today honoring the professionalism of the crew of US Airways flight 1549, five years after AFA US Airways Flight Attendants Donna Dent, Sheila Dail, and Doreen Welsh brought much needed attention to the primary role and purpose of Flight Attendants:
“On January 15, 2009, three US Airways Flight Attendants reminded the world that Flight Attendants serve as first responders onboard each and every commercial flight. In less than two minutes, our flying partners safely evacuated 150 passengers from flight 1549 as the plane sank into the Hudson River, saving the lives of every man, woman and child onboard.
American Eagle Flight Attendants Applaud Pilots On Tentative Agreement That Secures Future For Regional Carrier
American Eagle Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today commended their Pilot counterparts, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), on the announcement of a tentative agreement in principle with management. The agreement, subject to ratification by the Pilot membership, helps ensure future flying for AMR Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary which carries nearly 20 million passengers a year for American Airlines.
