Congress Introduces Resolution to Establish International Black Aviation Professionals Day

February 18, 2022 - On Wednesday, the Georgia Congressional delegation celebrated Black excellence in the field of aviation on International Black Aviation Professionals Day. Black aviators--including pilots, air traffic controllers, skycaps, flight attendants, ground crew members, and more--have been and continue to be instrumental to the success of the aviation industry, overcoming often insurmountable odds. 

Violent Passengers Need to Be Grounded

February 18, 2022 - The incidents of high profile disruptive passengers continues. Frontier Flight 1335 diverted to Raleigh-Durham International Airport after a passenger threatened everyone on the plane and had to be restrained. Disruptive allegedly racist passengers delayed Delta Connection Flight 5593 operated by Republic Airways before being removed. American Airlines Flight 1775 diverted to Kansas City after a passenger charged the cockpit, tried to open the door and assaulted the crew.

February 6, 2022 - Members of the Transport Workers Union & Flight Attendants’ Association of Australia are fighting for their livelihoods as Qantas Airways is threatening to terminate their contracts - effectively slashing their hourly wages by an average of 40% and cutting their rest periods in half. Some crew stand to have their hourly rate cut by as much as 65%.
