January 9, 2021 — Airlines and law enforcement agencies have bolstered security at Washington-area airports this week after reports of “mob behavior” on flights in and out of the region surrounding Wednesday’s siege on the U.S. Capitol. Every airline flying out of the region over the last several days has experienced incidents onboard. Flight Attendants House Homeland Security Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) on Thursday urged TSA and the FBI to add “violent perpetrators” who participated in the Capitol riots to the federal No-Fly List.

COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout Update
January 7, 2021 - AFA is advocating as part of an industry coalition to have airline workers in Tier 1B. The CDC has recommended that airline workers be placed in Tier 1B. Ultimately, individual states will determine their own tiers. The coalition sent letters to all 50 state governors at the end of December.

January 6, 2020 — Today a violent pro-Trump mob stormed the U.S. Capitol and forced lawmakers to evacuate to undisclosed locations while attempting to certify the electors confirmed by the states in the U.S. presidential election. The National Guard and state and federal police were called in for control, and the mayor of D.C. imposed a curfew of 6 pm.
