AFA Resources for Hurricane Dorian

September 6, 2019 (Updated) - On Friday, eastern North Carolina, southeast Virginia and the southern Delmarva Peninsula will take a blast from Dorian’s heavy rain, strong winds and storm surge through the morning and afternoon. Several locations along the North Carolina Outer Banks had already reported wind gusts up to 95 mph as the eyewall, the hurricane’s zone of the most severe weather surrounding its center, passed over early Friday. The storm officially made landfall over Cape Hatteras at 8:35 a.m.

August 26, 2019 — Since the announcement on Saturday that Known Crewmember (KCM) procedures would change AFA has been interfacing with TSA, industry, and the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). We are pleased to report to you the procedure to require a uniform for access through KCM will not go into effect this Wednesday. TSA Issues Notice of KCM Change

(August 24, 2019) — Earlier today, TSA posted an Alert to the KCM website, changing procedures for the program. (https://www.knowncrewmember.org/alert-august-24-2019/) Unpredictable Screening Procedures will change August 27 and the requirement for crew uniforms will become effective this Wednesday, August 28th.
