SALT LAKE CITY (October 11, 2023) — The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO (AFA) today filed a federal lawsuit against SkyWest Airlines, the regional airline operating flights for Delta, Alaska, United, and American, for violations of the Railway Labor Act including illegal termination of union activists and unlawfully standing up a company union.

Washington, D.C. (September 21, 2023) — After SkyWest Airlines fired two flight attendant union organizers, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) sent a demand letter to the regional airline operating flights for Delta, Alaska, United, and American. The letter calls on the airline to immediately rehire the flight attendants and follow the Railway Labor Act worker organizing protections.

Atlanta (September 6, 2023) —Following the news that Tom Brady has signed a contract to partner with Delta Air Lines, Flight Attendants organizing their union with Delta AFA Flight Attendants released the following statement:

CHICAGO (August 31, 2023) – United Airlines flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA), today picketed at 19 airports to demand United Airlines fix ongoing operational issues and focus on negotiating a long overdue contract.

Washington, DC (August 24, 2023) — Today, the Department of Transportation issued a notice of intent to close a loophole that undermines safety and security rules for commercial aviation. A new business model that has “grown exponentially in the last 10 years” sells tickets only to those who can afford first class, skirts security screening, and obliterates scientifically defined proper rest and training for airline crew and other aviation workers. Flight Attendants and 9/11 pilot widow applaud the Administration’s action today. 

Seattle (August 15, 2023) - Thousands of Alaska Airlines flight attendants, who are represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA), picketed outside of six airports, as part of a nationwide day of action to demand a fair contract. This demonstration came just one day after contract negotiations resumed with Alaska Airlines management, after months of stagnation and years of unfair working conditions.
