Phoenix, AZ – After five years of protracted contract negotiations and the announcement of US Airways’ second biggest profit in the airline’s history, the members of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) have had enough of management delay tactics and attempts to negotiate a concessionary merged contract.

Washington, DC – Miami Air Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) today ratified a four-year agreement with management. Of those voting, over 90 percent supported the agreement.

NMB Ruling Would Trigger Union Election for 24,000 at New United Airlines

Chicago – The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) today asked the National Mediation Board (NMB) to declare that the United/Continental merger has created a single-carrier, triggering a union representation election for the combined Flight Attendant workforce. Over 15,000 United Flight Attendants already are represented by AFA.

Chicago – United Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO (AFA), are conducting a world-wide protest today in response to United Airlines management’s failure to negotiate a new Contract a year after it became amendable. Eight years and eight days ago, Flight Attendants took deep cuts in pay and then management destroyed their working conditions and cancelled their pensions. Those cuts should have concluded one year ago today when the Contract became amendable.

Washington, DC – New leadership is taking charge at the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA). Elected last year at AFA’s annual convention, Veda Shook took office as AFA’s International President on January 1, while Sara Nelson took over as International Vice President, and Kevin Creighan entered his second full term as International Secretary-Treasurer.
