Washington, DC - Flight Attendants at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) today were the latest AFA members to gain access to the alternate, expedited security screening Known Crewmember (KCM) program. Alaska and Horizon are subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group.

PSA Flight Attendants Gain Access to Expedited Security Screening

Washington, DC –Today, US Airways Express Flight Attendants at PSA Airlines, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), gained access to the alternate, expedited security screening program Known Crewmember (KCM). PSA is a wholly owned subsidiary of US Airways Group, Inc. and operates as a US Airways Express carrier.

Washington, DC - Pinnacle Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) today announced a tentative agreement with airline management. The agreement was reached with the assistance of the National Mediation Board. AFA was successful in reaching terms that preserved Flight Attendant job security and minimized the impact on wages and costs of health care benefits.

Compass Airlines Flight Attendants Overwhelmingly Support Strike 

Washington, DC – Compass Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today authorized a strike should negotiations with management fail to reach an agreement that can be ratified. The strike was authorized by an overwhelming 94 percent of participating Flight Attendants. Compass is a Delta Connection carrier.

6,700 Flight Attendants Determined to Achieve a Meaningful Contract

Phoenix – Flight Attendant leaders for the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), representing US Airways Flight Attendants, today announced a strike vote to back up their demands for a single contract in the US Airways/America West merger. The strike vote will open on October 31 and close November 20. In a message released to members earlier this morning, union leaders stated:

7,000 US Airways Flight Attendants First to Gain Access to Expedited Security Screening

Washington, DC – Starting today, US Airways Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), are able to access the alternate, expedited security screening program Known Crewmember (KCM) in 23 airports across the country. The successful program was launched by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in 2011, tested thoroughly and today Flight Attendants begin to use the risk-based security screening.

Washington, DC – US Airways Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), voted 51 percent against a tentative agreement to combine the contracts of pre-merger America West and US Airways. Voter participation was 85 percent.

Washington, DC – Leadership of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) at Compass Airlines today called for a strike vote, following 31 months of negotiations that have failed to reach an agreement. Contract talks began in March 2010 and negotiations have been in mediation since October 2011, under the jurisdiction of the National Mediation Board (NMB).

Washington, DC - Flight Attendants at American Eagle, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today approved a tentative agreement with management. This agreement, which includes substantial improvements over management’s original bankruptcy term sheet as well as their Last Best Final Offer, was approved by 87 percent of AFA members who participated.
