WASHINGTON, DC (June 24, 2022) — Today, the Supreme Court struck down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision. Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) President Sara Nelson released the following statement:

WASHINGTON, DC (June 15, 2022) -- The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), representing Flight Attendants at American’s wholly-owned regionals Envoy, Piedmont, and PSA, have reached agreements with the airlines to increase pay, provide a retention bonus, summer reliability incentive program, and significantly improve commuter benefits.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 17, 2022) — The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), representing Frontier and Spirit Attendants, reached a deal with Frontier Holdings for a Merger Transition Agreement with job, seniority, and contract protections affirmed for Spirit and Frontier Flight Attendants. The agreement was unanimously approved by the directly elected Flight Attendant AFA-CWA leaders at each respective airline.

Las Vegas, NV (May 16, 2022) – The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) directly-elected leaders from 17 airlines today re-elected Sara Nelson as International President by acclamation to serve the new four year term. Keturah Johnson was elected as International Vice President and Dante Harris as International Secretary-Treasurer, both for first terms.

WASHINGTON, DC (May 3, 2022) — Yesterday, POLITICO reported the Supreme Court has voted to strike down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito circulated inside the court. The Court confirmed its authenticity on Tuesday. Association of Flight Attendants-CWA President Sara Nelson released the following statement: 

UPDATE 6:20pm ET, April 18, 2022

The CDC and TSA the federal mask mandate is no longer in effect after today's court ruling. 

From the CDC: "The agencies are reviewing the decision and assessing potential next steps. In the meantime, today's court decision means CDC's public transportation masking order is not in effect at this time. Therefore. TSA will not enforce its Security Directives and Emergency Amendment requiring mask use on public transportation and transportation hubs at this time. CDC recommends that people continue to wear masks in indoor public transportation settings."

Flight Attendants need to look for communication from your airline on what the new policy is and how to communicate that to passengers. We need to do everything we can to help our airlines be clear with Flight Attendants and passengers as it relates to the mask mandate ending. And of course, we will ensure Flight Attendants retain personal options to protect themselves during the ongoing pandemic. The CDC continues to recommend wearing masks.

Washington, DC (April 13, 2022) — Today, six months after Avelo Flight Attendants filed for an election with super majority support, the National Mediation Board (NMB) announced that they have voted to form a union with the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA.

ORLANDO - On Monday, April 11th, Spirit Airlines flight attendants, who are represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA), will be picketing outside of Orlando International Airport (MCO) to demand Spirit Airlines acknowledge the concerns of flight crew and stop violating the flight attendants' contract.

Violent offenders convicted of assaulting flight crew could be placed on a commercial no-fly list

Washington, DC (April 6, 2022) — Disruptive passengers remain a threat to Flight Attendants, Passenger Service Agents and passengers onboard. Today, U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) and U.S. Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) introduced the bicameral Protection from Abusive Passengers Act to improve aviation safety, reduce violent inflight incidents, and hold passengers accountable.
