(February 8, 2024) — Association of Flight Attendants-CWA President Sara Nelson, representing 50,000 Flight Attendants at 19 airlines, released the following statement after the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation passed out of committee S. 1939, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act of 2023.

Flight Attendants vote to authorize strike on the heels of management proposals that would leave them near the bottom of industry pay 

Washington, D.C. (January 31, 2024) —Flight Attendants at American Eagle carrier Air Wisconsin overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike, with 99% in support of authorizing the strike.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 9, 2024) — Today, Flight Attendants at Breeze Airways announced their campaign to form a union with the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO (AFA), joining more than 50,000 cabin crew at 19 airlines. Nearly 600 Flight Attendants at seven bases make up the workgroup. 

Washington, D.C. (January 6, 2024) — The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) President Sara Nelson released the following statement after the FAA temporary grounding of certain 737 MAX 9 fleet that do not meet the inspection cycles specified in the Emergency Airworthiness Directive:

SEATTLE (December 19, 2023) — Alaska Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), will take a strike vote after mounting frustrations in mediated negotiations. This is the first time since the historic 1993 CHAOS Strike that Alaska Flight Attendants will vote on strike authorization. The vote announcement coincides with demonstrations at eight major airports nationwide as holiday travel takes off. 

Days after the union filed for federal mediation in the heated contract negotiations, United Airlines demonstrated across the nation to demand a fair share of United’s multi-billion dollar profits.

CHICAGO - On Thursday, December 14, United Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), staged a nationwide day of action at 19 airports to demand United Airlines executives get serious about negotiating a fair contract with the airline’s largest, most-passenger facing workgroup.
