35,000 pounds of relief supplies also delivered on flight; evacuees to fill seats on return flight to Newark, New Jersey

NEWARK, N.J., Oct. 4, 2017 – Today, the AFL-CIO, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA), the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and United Airlines teamed up to fly more than 300 first responders and skilled volunteers—including nurses, doctors, electricians, engineers, carpenters and truck drivers—to Puerto Rico to help with relief and rebuilding efforts.

(Newark, New Jersey) - The AFL-CIO, Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW), International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) and United Airlines are teaming up to fly more than 300 of first responders and skilled volunteers from over 17 states to help with relief efforts and the rebuilding of Puerto Rico.  The United plane will also deliver donated food, water, and essential supplies to those who need it most.

Miami Air flies Major NHL, NBA, NFL Sports Teams

Washington, DC (October 3, 2017) — Miami Air Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today voted 96 percent for strike authorization. Miami Air is a charter airline operating flights for vacation tour companies and major sports teams including for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers, Miami Dolphins and Heat, Tampa Bay Lightning and New Jersey Devils.

Washington, D.C. (October 2, 2017) — Air Transport International (ATI) Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO (AFA), today reached a tentative agreement for a first contract.

Mesa Flight Attendants fly under United Express and American Eagle Brands

Washington, DC (September 28, 2017) — Mesa Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today voted by 97 percent to ratify a new contract with economic and work rule improvements for the more than 1,100 Flight Attendants.

Washington, DC (August 18, 2017) — Mesa Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today announced a tentative agreement with Mesa Airlines management. The four year agreement would cover over 1,100 Flight Attendants and includes economic and quality of life gains. The deal was reached with the assistance of the National Mediation Board.
