Mesa Flight Attendants Ratify Contract That Equalizes Pay Before Merger Talks Start
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 13, 2025) — Mesa Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), ratified a new contract by 94% voting in favor of the wage increases and additional improvements. The ratified contract is just the first step in improvements AFA Mesa Flight Attendants will next negotiate alongside their Teamster Local 135 counterparts at Republic.
“This vote is about more than pay,” said Shannon Harris, Mesa AFA President. “It's about respect, fairness, and equity at the soon-to-be merged airline. “This contract provides Mesa Flight Attendants with certainty and guaranteed economic and work rule improvements as we work towards our joint contract.”
The two year agreement covering over 550 Mesa Flight Attendants provides pay increases, increased per diem, additional holidays, improved furlough protections and scheduling rules. The agreement was reached with the assistance of NMB federal mediator Mike Donatelli.
Mesa Airlines is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona operating Embraer E-175 Aircraft for United Airlines as United Express. Mesa and Republic Airways announced a merger earlier this year and the transaction is expected to close in the near term.
