National Election Results

Dear Flight Attendants:
The election results are extremely difficult for us as a union and advancing our demands. Trump/Vance won the White House and will determine who runs each of the Departments and Agencies across the administration. The GOP won the Senate which means their appointments will get approved. As all of the votes are still being counted, it will come down to approximately three to four races that determine who controls the House.
Our unions have been the only way to give working people power and now is no different. Solidarity is the only way forward. We have to deny any effort to divide us. Find every chance to build connections and common bonds around our efforts to better our jobs and protect all of the people who make up our union. There are many in our union who are feeling extremely vulnerable and unsettled and we need to assure them their union is with them. Take a moment to reassure the people we work with that we’ve got their back and we’re in this together. Please make sure members in need are able to utilize AFA EAP 800-424-2406.
We have seen very difficult terrain before. We will do what we always do and assess the situation, determine how to build our power and leverage, and fight to defend and advance. We are determining how best to lock in the contracts we need. We will communicate with each affected AFA airline leadership and the whole union. We have no doubt that Flight Attendants can lead and we need to.
Case in point—we’ve all had that horrific flight. But when we have a good crew, lock eyes and see each other, commit to each other that we will stand together there really is nothing we can’t overcome, nothing we can’t do. That is true here too.
