New Officer Orientation: Election Category I
November 21, 2025 - Every three years, AFA Flight Attendants cast our votes to elect your Local Council AFA Officers including your Local Council President, Vice President, Secretary, and Council Representative(s). You can find all the information at afacwa.org/elections.
Newly elected Flight Attendant Officers from ATI, Envoy, Endeavor, Frontier, Horizon, PSA, Spirit and United met in Washington, D.C. this week for a four-day New Officer Orientation ahead of the start of their terms on January 1, 2026.
The Initial Orientation Agenda includes a general overview of AFA’s structure, presentations from the various Department Directors, highlighting the resources available to assist leaders through our International Office, introduction to the responsibilities of a newly elected officer, and guidance on transitioning successfully to the new term of office.
They will return in February for the second part of the training, honing their skills with a few months of experience under their belts.
Each Local Council in our union is assigned to an Election Category. All airlines within AFA are assigned to one of three Election Categories. Election Category II, the final category, will begin the election process in April 2026 with nominations.
