Notice to Crewmembers

Notice to Crewmembers

The  Transportation Security Agency (TSA)  has temporarily approved non-uniformed crewmembers to travel with commercially-available liquid disinfectant products in quantities adequate for personal use for the duration of their assigned trip in order to protect their health and safety.

This policy is effective tomorrow April 30, 2020, through July 31, 2020, or until TSA, at its discretion, returns to the existing policy for non-uniformed crewmembers.

The following measures apply:

  1. Non-uniformed crewmembers are required to present their CREW ID;
  2. Any commercially-produced disinfectant product may be subject to additional screening by TSA and may be prohibited from transport at the discretion of the Federal Security Director or his/her designee.
  3. This exemption is limited to commercially-produced disinfectant products only and does not apply to other liquids, prohibited hazardous materials (unless otherwise authorized by a Special Permit from the Department of Transportation), or items on the TSA prohibited items list.
