Omni Flight Attendants Seek To Advance Careers With World's Largest Flight Attendant Union

Washington, DC – Omni Air International Flight Attendants took a major step in advancing their careers by requesting a representation election for the over 400 Flight Attendants at the charter carrier. The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) filed a petition with the National Mediation Board (NMB) yesterday after a strong majority of Omni Flight Attendants signed authorization cards seeking AFA representation.

“Omni Flight Attendants recognize the value of having the legal right to negotiate over important aspects of their careers such as wages, retirement benefits and vital safety programs. By joining the ranks of the world’s largest Flight Attendant union, they will have vast resources available that will help them advance their careers and take control of their future,” said AFA International President Veda Shook.

Based in Tulsa, OK, Omni Air operates international and domestic passenger charters. In addition, Omni also provides cargo and troop airlift for the U.S. military.

The Association of Flight Attendants is the world’s largest Flight Attendant union. Focused 100 percent on Flight Attendant issues, AFA has been the leader in advancing the Flight Attendant profession for over 65 years. Serving as the voice for Flight Attendants in the workplace, in the aviation industry, in the media and on Capitol Hill, AFA has transformed the Flight Attendant profession by raising wages, benefits and working conditions. Nearly 60,000 Flight Attendants at 23 airlines come together to form AFA, part of the 700,000-member strong Communications Workers of America (CWA), AFL-CIO. Visit us at www.afacwa.org.
