PRIDE @ Work 2022: Out for Democracy
August 26, 2022 — AFA members attended this year’s Pride at Work’s quadrennial convention last week in Minneapolis.
This year’s theme, Out for Democracy, highlights how much democratic values underpin both the LGBTQ+ equality movement and the labor movement alike. Like the labor movement, Pride at Work believes in every person’s right to a voice in their workplace and their government. But those core democratic values are under attack from all sides.
AFA President Sara Nelson spoke to the conference. Flight Attendants from more than 7 airlines attended as part of the AFA delegation.
“I am excited and honored to continue to be a voice to help lift other voices and be a part of the change that's happening," said AFA-CWA International Vice President Keturah Johnson, who now sits on the PRIDE @ Work Executive Board.
