PSA Flight Attendants Demonstrate to Demand Fair Share for Aviation’s First Responders

Flight Attendants will call out the two-tiered treatment of regional Flight Attendants, who make on average 45% less than mainline counterparts

CHARLOTTE (March 26, 2025) — On Wednesday, March 26, Flight Attendants at PSA Airlines – a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Airlines – demonstrated nationwide for a new contract.

Flight Attendants perform life saving work every day to ensure the safety and health of the passengers in their care. Yet, PSA Flight Attendants, who are represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, work flights branded as American but are paid on average 45% less than cabin crew directly employed by American.

"The entire country is keenly aware of the value that Flight Attendants bring to our airlines," said Lee Wilkes, AFA PSA President. "It couldn't be more clear as Flight Attendants at PSA. We expect management to come to the table next week with the respect that we are due and the contract we have earned."

While the Flight Attendants work for the wholly-owned subsidiary PSA, airline management at American Airlines ultimately control pay and working conditions at American Eagle carriers. PSA Flight Attendants are demanding American management agree to the same new contract framework as mainline Flight Attendants — double digit pay increases, boarding pay, retro pay, and scheduling improvements.

Wednesday’s demonstrations made clear that PSA Flight Attendants – who voted 99.2% to authorize a strike as negotiations have already dragged on for nearly two years – are unified as they fight for the contract they deserve that ensures Flight Attendants who save lives are paid a living wage.
