ALERT — 17:00 on March 15, 2016 — The Washington Metro rail system will be SHUTDOWN tomorrow, March 16, due to an emergency equipment inspection. Please adjust your travel plans accordingly. We have adjusted our recommendations below.
How to Get to The Capitol
From AFA-CWA: AFA will host an early-check in at CWA's building: 501 3rd Street NW, Washington, DC 20001. We will walk groups over to the Capitol Visitor's Center at 9:15am, 9:30am and 9:45am.
From DCA: Take a Taxi to the Capitol Visitor's Center (First Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20515). Taxi fare will be approximately $20-25.
From IAD: Book a SuperShuttle from Dulles to the Capitol Visitor's Center.
From BWI: Follow signs for Ground Transportation. MARC Trains provide service to the BWI Marshall Rail Station, where free shuttles serve the airport terminal. MARC Train service operates seven days a week. Shuttle stops are located on the lower level terminal roadway in between door numbers 1 & 2, 8 & 9, 14 & 15, and 17 & 18. Shuttle buses from the BWI Marshall terminal building to the rail station operate daily (Book at self-service ticket stations.) as follows: 5am-8pm – Every 6 minutes.
Take the MARC train two stops to Union Station. Walk straight out of Union Station down Delaware Ave NE towards the Capitol (approx. 1 mile). Enter the Capitol at the Capitol Visitor's Center (First Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20515).
