TAKE ACTION: 30 Days of a Government Shutdown

October 30, 2025 - Today is Day 30 of the government shutdown. The crisis is unsustainable. Take urgent action below to support our safety, security, and economic stability.

  • Air Traffic Controllers, TSA Officers, and other workers required to work without pay, missed their first full paycheck this week.
  • Millions of Americans are confronting healthcare premium spikes as open enrollment begins – this will roll to higher costs for all Americans.
  • More than 40 million people, including Flight Attendants, will lose SNAP food assistance on Saturday.
  • Head Start early childhood centers, which provide care and education for over 700,000 infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children, will begin closing next week.

Action Item #1
If you or your family members will be affected by loss of SNAP food assistance Head Start programs closing, or if you have benefited from either of these programs in the past, fill out this confidential survey to share your story. Members of Congress need to know the real, human impact of letting the government shutdown extend into November. Fill out the survey now.

Air Traffic Controllers and TSA Officers are working without the support of other workers who normally help them do their jobs and keep us safe, like safety inspectors. NATCA Regional Vice President Dan McCabe told the AJC:

“It’s a bad situation. And at this point, it is getting worse and worse and worse and worse.”

Our national air space system relies on highly trained professionals – air traffic controllers – who are still coming to work under incredible stress. There’s no doubt they are heroes, but they are still human and at some point the stress and strain of being unable to take care of their own families will make it impossible to safely do the job.

Action Item #2
Add your name now if you’d like to help support Flight Attendants or government workers in need during the shutdown. You can also flag that you’d like to take part in actions to help end the shutdown.
From essential workers going without their paychecks to critical programs like SNAP and Head Start ending, we need a bipartisan agreement that immediately ends this shutdown and continues the federal programs for basic necessities of food assistance and healthcare.

Action Item #3
Our safety, security, and economic stability is on the line. There are two crises and simple votes can solve them. Send a letter now to urge your Representative and Senators do their jobs to end the shutdown today.
