Spirit Bankruptcy Update

Spirit Bankruptcy Update

November 7, 2025 - Spirit management indicated that they would be seeking changes to the Spirit AFA Contract under Section 1113 of the bankruptcy code. When a company is in bankruptcy, management can petition the bankruptcy court to open our contract and ask the court to make changes without our ratification.

Spirit AFA has reached an agreement in principle regarding cost savings under their Collective Bargaining Agreement. This will help them avoid the worst of the bankruptcy proceedings that would deprive workers of a voice over what their CBA should include. Ultimately, this ensures they have a voice for the future.

More details will be released to Spirit Flight Attendants first as a part of the ratification process. Keep our Spirit Flight Attendant siblings in your thoughts while they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
