Thank You Flight Attendant Healthcare Force
June 22, 2020 - Almost 2,000 of Aviation's First Responders raised their hand earlier this year to help our healthcare sisters and brothers on the ground during this COVID-19 crisis.
Through our partnership with Volunteer Surge, AFA helped connect you with opportunities to provide surge capacity in your community. As our healthcare worker sisters and brothers work to treat patients and save lives, we put our skills to work to support them and our communities.
As a Thank You we ordered a mask recognizing your role as one of Aviation's First Responders. These were ordered before our airlines started even the first crew mask policies and finally they are produced and being delivered over the next week.
Do not wear the mask without washing first. The best care is washing with soap and water and hanging to dry. If you wash in a washing machine, do not also dry as it may shrink the mask.
We continue to press the federal government for COVID-19 health regulations, including mandating masks in all airports and airplanes. We also continue to press for proper PPE for crew. Ensuring everyone wears a mask significantly reduces the risk of spread of the virus. Not only are masks important for safety, they are essential for building trust in air travel again - protecting both our health and our jobs.
Remember that you are getting this mask because you raised your hand to help healthcare workers fight this virus and assist our country in saving lives. We encourage you to wear your AFA Aviation's First Responders mask with pride.
