Unruly Passengers: We Continue to Support Our Crews
August 6, 2021 - A video of a drunk and irate passenger onboard a Frontier Airlines flight went viral last weekend, forcing the crew to restrain the passenger with the tools available to them onboard. It was later determined the passenger verbally, physically, and sexually assaulted multiple members of the crew and when he refused to comply, he was duct-taped to his seat.
Instead of supporting the crew who had been assaulted, management suspended the crew without pay. AFA issued a public statement demanding the crew be immediately reinstated with pay — these Flight Attendants are heroes.
Thankfully, Frontier management did the right thing and removed the crew’s suspensions within hours of our statement. Instead the Flight Attendants have been pulled from duty with pay until the standard incident investigation is complete.
The FAA sent a letter this week asking airports to discourage the sale of “to-go” alcohol and to take a more active role in helping to curb a rise in assaults on Flight Attendants.
