After Intense Pressure from Piedmont Flight Attendants, Agreement Reached Through Mediation
Washington, DC – Piedmont Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today announced a tentative agreement with management that includes economic improvements, as well as improved work rules and other benefits for the regional Flight Attendants. The agreement was reached with the assistance of the National Mediation Board (NMB).
“Piedmont Flight Attendants have remained united and insisted that this agreement provide for immediate improvements while creating a foundation for new opportunities in the new American Airlines network. Our professional contributions have been instrumental in the success of Piedmont and US Airways. We fully expect that these efforts be recognized. Piedmont Flight Attendants will now determine if this agreement meets our priorities,” said Anita Jwanouskos, AFA Piedmont President.
Details of the agreement will now be sent to the nearly 200 Flight Attendants for consideration. Voting will begin March 17 and conclude April 9, 2014. Piedmont, a wholly owned subsidiary of the new American Airlines, Inc, is the only carrier at Salisbury-Wicomico Regional, Hilton Head Island, and Tweed New Haven Airports.
