Breeze Vote Count Next Week

May 3, 2024—Breeze Flight Attendants organized earlier this year to get an election with the National Mediation Board to select AFA as their union. The voting closes tomorrow, May 7, and the ballots will be counted starting tomorrow afternoon. Breeze continues to grow with more than 650 Flight Attendants based at BDL, CHS, MSY, ORF, PVD, PVU, TPA, MCO.

ICYMI: Crown Act Reintroduced in Congress

May 3, 2024— Congress reintroduced the Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair (CROWN) Act this week. If passed, the CROWN Act would prohibit race-based hair discrimination, protecting the right to wear hair naturally.

AFA Urges Congress to Pass FAA Reauthorization

May 3, 2024—Last week, the House and Senate Committee leadership reached a bipartisan agreement to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The agreement addresses key concerns and moves the FAA in the correct direction on staffing and oversight of our industry. It also rejects poison pills that would harm workers and make our system less safe.

We’re kicking off this red hot Solidarity Summer with a Worldwide Flight Attendant Day of Action to demand our contracts. Airline executives have had no problem dolling out massive raises for themselves. We’re coming for our share of the profits we create.

AFA Alaska-Hawaiian Merger Meeting - April 26

May 1, 2024— On April 26, 2024, our International President convened a virtual meeting with the Alaska and Hawaiian Master Executive Councils (MEC). This includes the directly elected Local Council Presidents and MEC officers at each airline. Our AFA professionals from Legal, Collective Bargaining, Government Affairs, and Communications were in attendance to support the elected Flight Attendant representatives.
