AFA, TWU, IL AFL-CIO Push for Sick Leave Legal Protections In Illinois
July 10, 2021 — On Tuesday, AFA, TWU, and the Illinois State AFL-CIO, met with State Speaker Emanuel "Chris" Welch, Representative Joyce Mason, to urge the State Legislature to pass SB 645, making sure airline workers in Illinois are covered under sick leave legal protections.
In a Facebook post, Rep. Mason said, "Flight attendants should be able to use the benefits they’ve earned when they need them, just as other workers can. I stand with them and will keep fighting for their right to do so."
