Help our Guam Flying Partners Recover from Typhoon Mawar

June 12, 2023 - Our flying partners in Guam need our help. Thousands of residents in Guam still don't have water or electricity two weeks after powerful Typhoon Mawar hit the island — the strongest storm to blow across the island in more than two decades.

An AFA Flight Attendant wrote to us with an update from Guam:

“Some of our Flight Attendants' homes have been totally destroyed. Our lines are down, trees uprooted and practically everyone's home has some sort of flooding. Many of us have no running water, power, or internet service. We just got word that it might take a few more weeks until most of the island is restored with basic utilities. We are in line for hours to fill our cars with gasoline and bags of ice are like looking for gold.”

If you have the means, please consider donating to the AFA Disaster Relief Fund to help our Guam flying partners get back on their feet in this time of crisis.

100% of the funds contribution will go directly to impacted Flight Attendants in the form of cash assistance. Visit: https://www.afacwa.org/drf to start the donation process.

Guam Flight Attendants, stay safe. Your AFA EAP is here for you 24 hours a day at 844-232-2228, Ext. 1.
