United, Alaska Flight Attendants Head to the Picket Line as Holiday Travel Takes Off

December 10, 2023 - Flight Attendants are the face of United and Alaska. We are aviation’s first responders, delivering safety and service on every flight to passengers. As the flying public begins their holiday travels, we will ensure passengers hear our voices loud and clear. Expectations are high after decades of austerity, delayed improvements, and more recently significant improvements for pilots.

We have a question for management this holiday season, which side of Santa’s list do you want to be on?

United AFA filed for federal mediation this week due to management’s slow pace and lack of respect from United management. Alaska AFA filed for federal mediation this fall after Alaska management’s first economic counter-proposal was a non-starter. Their proposals fail to reflect the value of Alaska AFA Flight Attendant’s contribution to the airline.

The disrespect is palpable and Flight Attendants across the industry are more committed than ever to fight for their fair share and pay for our time at work, which is not just time in the air.
